On Sunday I participated in a mini duathlon along with Danielle and Sonya, plus Brittany and Heidi completed a sprint triathlon and sprint duathlon! It was definitely an experience. I've done a few races so far including a 10k and a few 5ks so this was new to me adding another element. The mini consisted of a 2 mile run, 7 mile bike ride, and another 2 mile run. It was at Portage Lake State Park in Akron, Ohio. It was a chilly morning and the even was even delayed 15 minutes since there was too much fog and the swimmers could not see the buoys (Brittany was the lucky one doing the swimming part in our group!) I completed the whole even with Danielle and Sonya so that was a good motivation to keep going and made it more fun for sure! Half of the run was a trail run through the woods and very pretty. The bike ride I was definitely not prepared for it was sooooo HILLY like wow! it was crazy at some parts I could not make my wheels spin and had to walk some of the hills. Overall it was super tough but a good experience, I still think it would be fun to do another with the triathlon part, but I would definitely train more and maybe buy my own bike like a hybrid or something. Also I would love to do it in the summer so the water and weather would be warm! I'm so glad I had my sisters/friend to do this with! I also got my first medal from a race! |

So now that it is starting to feel like fall I decided to start brainstorming some fun things I want to do in the upcoming months. There is a lot I love about fall but I am a little sad at the thought of summer being over. I love the heat and sun and EVERYTHING summer related plus this year mine was a little less "summery" so I wish it would last longer but oh well now on to fall and finding ways to make it awesome (and not think about the fact winter will be here soon yikes!) So below is my fall "bucket list" hopefully I can get to most of it and enjoy lots of fall themed stuff once the weather gets chilly and the leaves start changing.
Summer has flown by like normal, can't believe it's already labor day, so here's a few snapshots of my summer! |
