One of the sewing books I borrowed from my sister was an Amy Butler one and while I was in Columbus back in May I bought some of her materials to use for a checkbook cover. I don't use my checkbook too much but thought if I have something cute to store it in it will make writing (rent) checks not as painful! This project was definitely more challenging than the last since I was using 3 different fabrics, 3 types of interfaces (including fusing some of them) and a magnetic clasp. Overall it turned out pretty good. I need to work more on my finishing sewing skills, like straight lines and curved lines, but I was impressed at the end. Not sure what my next project will be, I think I need a sunglasses case and I also could make something for my expecting sister & brother-in-law! I might have to start buying my own sewing books so I can return the ones I have now. Enjoy the pictures of my checkbook cover.
