This is my last post on San Francisco (at least until I visit again) and this is on dessert and yummy sweet food! My favorite favorite cupcake place EVER is located in SF. It’s called Kara’s Cupcakes, I loved that place when I lived there and I was hoping it wasn’t all just my hyped up memory so when I got a cupcake there again this time it definitely validated as my favorite cupcake place ever, if only they shipped cupcakes.....I brought a few back for some friends and they definitely looked prettier before the flight but still tasted as awesome. I also tested another new cupcake place called Cako, which had pretty packaging but it wasn’t my favorite, the frosting was a little weird and gummy? Another first in the dessert world for me was macaroons, I got these at my go to cafe in SF called La Boulange which is where I got some awesome yogurt/granola and a mocha latte at. The macaroons were really good and now I’m craving more so I should probably find a place in DC that sell good ones or maybe I’ll just try making my own. That’s all for SF, it was a great trip and I definitely spent a majority of my time hitting up my favorite spots and walking on the beach!

After acquiring a lot more fruit and veggies from my green grocer box I’ve been trying out a few new recipes, here is one for morning glory muffins that I found here: Morning Glory recipe. They turned out awesome and are actually pretty healthy and great for breakfast. The recipe made quite a few so I’ve frozen them and can easily pull one out to defrost and eat as soon as I get to work which is perfect for me.
So I’m back blogging about San Francisco because I love it so much (although it’s super far away which is a pain and causes jet leg). This time I’m going to focus on the food, but only part of it, the dessert also deserves it’s own post and will round out part 3 of my SF trip. So the first day in town I randomly stumbled upon a food truck group called “Off The Grid” which was perfect so I could try some new SF food so I ended up with a grilled cheese and some fries with pork belly from a Bacon food truck, it was amazing and I definitely needed some help to eat it all. I also had my first creme brulee ever! and it was from a food truck, I got the S’mores kind and it was ok....maybe I’ll have to try creme brulee again but for now it’s not my favorite. One other food highlight is Super Duper which was a burger place that I found on Market street and did not exist when I previously lived in SF. It was awesome! I’m always looking for the best burger and this is definitely a contender but I think what made this one different was the side sauces that you could get with the fries! So nothing fancy in terms of food but very awesome and neat places to eat.
