Since it's the last day of the year I thought it'd be a good time to reflect on the past year and post the photos from the gratitude challenge I did back in November. I've done this 30-day gratitude photo challenge past years from positivelypresent.com and I always love having this small challenge to remind me daily everything I have to be thankful for. Here is the recap from when I did it last year: 2014 Gratitude photo challenge.

I made a nice long weekend trip home to NR so I could celebrate the twin's 4th birthday and meet William. It was nice having the whole weekend to spend time with the family since I hadn't been home since July. Isn't Will such a cutie! L&L really enjoyed the birthday festivities especially the gifts and cake! It was a superman and batman themed party and this year was in their brand new house that was just finished up recently. The Clouse house is so nice and there was so much space for the whole family and party! Overall a pretty great weekend and glad that my guy could tag along for the fun country air filled trip!
May was a super fun month with a lot of celebrations all around including Kyle, my mom, and my dad's birthday along with mother's day! I wasn't able to celebrate in person with the parents but I was still able to wish them well and I will just have to celebrate extra hard the next time I see them. Kyle and I had a fun weekend in Pittsburgh celebrating (which of course included the now yearly tradition of banana pudding!) We also checked out Wigle's whiskey garden & barrelhouse for some drinks and music. I found a super could chalkboard map made for tracking what states Kyle has completed a race in. It also has hooks for medals and clips for his bibs. I think it turned out super cool and it's fun seeing Kyle excited to fill in the states! I found it on Etsy from the York Sign Shop if anyone is interested, they have a lot of cool products and the quality is awesome.
This year Easter fell right around my birthday so I took that as a sign to take a few extra days off work and have a long extended weekend back in Ohio with the family, I was even lucky enough to drag Kyle along with me. I have to say I'm super blessed with an amazing family and love anytime I get to catch up with them and especially when we all get to be in one place together which doesn't happen as often now that we're all grown up living in different areas and some with growing families! Speaking of that I got to meet the newest Kimmet, little Samuel at a week old and he is just adorable! The weekend was a perfect mix of family, food, celebration, and relaxation. The weather could've been a little better but I think spring is finally trying to stick around. Here's everything we we crammed into the weekend: coloring eggs with the twins, making ice cream, baking & cooking for all the parties, Good Friday mass, Sonny Jacks for a birthday drink, Easter in Cleveland with Jolly's, easter egg hunt, sunrise Easter mass, Kimmet Easter at the parents, and checked out the progress on the Clouse House! So I realized I never actually published this post, but since there is still a little snow left outside I guess I will publish it now. Here is a recap of the holidays in photos. I had a great time with my family and friends, but it always goes by way to fast! However I am definitely ready for the winter to be over and spring to arrive. With the sun out and shining today and temps finally above freezing I feel like we might be out of the woods soon! I had a super fun and full Valentine's Day/President's Day weekend in the middle of February. I roadtripped up to Pittsburgh to hang with Kyle on Friday the 14th and then we headed to Columbus for the rest of the weekend. We had tickets to the George Strait concert with my friends on Saturday and then spent part of Sunday meeting up with my family for food and then some exploring. It was such a fun weekend even with a few bumps (hotel room not ready) and it still being snowy and super cold. I could go on and on about the whole weekend but I think my photos will tell the story better! I can't believe the holidays have already come and gone! Wow time really does fly but I had lots of fun spending time with family and friends over the last month and a half. The holidays were a little different for me this year but still so good, I also overindulged A LOT but totally worth it! I'm getting back to the health kick now but more on that later... This year (well last year now since I'm a little late on this post) I spent Thanksgiving in Virginia since I had to work a little that week, but I did get to spend with Kyle's family and made my Grandma Metzger's famous noodles to make it feel more like home! It was really good and I had all the yummy foods that go along with that day, but the company was even better than the food, I am lucky that I was able to have someone else's family here in VA to spend the holiday with! I was also able to do some baking with Kyle in preparation for Christmas. We made buckeyes, chocolate covered cherries, and gingerbread men, along with some eggnog cocktails! Sooooo good and was my first taste of eggnog and I have to say I'm hooked for sure. For Christmas I celebrated with Kyle the week before and then headed back to NR for the week of and spent a lot of time with the family and catching up with friends. It was so much fun watching the twins dig into presents this year, they loved opening gifts and helped out everyone, especially opening Eric's presents hehe! And I know Henry is not far behind, next year will be even more fun with all 3 of them older! I hope everyone else had an amazing holiday season and enjoy the photos! |
