I spent this past weekend with 3 straight days off exploring a few new spots in the area. I had some good food and drink, plus a little relaxation and finished off the weekend cheering Kyle on at the George Washington Memorial Parkway 10 mile classic. It was a pretty perfect spring weekend, a little chilly off and on but the flowers and greenery popping up everywhere makes it hard to not be optimistic about the seasons changing and getting closer to summer! Here's a play by play of my low key weekend: Friday Spark Barre Box at 6:30 am Almond joy latte and spinach feta scone from Buzz Bakery Foot soak and lunch at House of Steep Homemade meatballs from ZenBelly cookbook along with quinoa and veggie stir fry for dinner Late happy hour with Kyle and his friends at La Tasca (BEST brussels sprouts EVER!) |
Saturday Relaxing morning at home with french pressed iced coffee and green smoothies A little shopping and race packet pickup in Old Town Alexandria Lunch to go from Sweet Green & Taylor Gourmet Wine tasting and lunch eating at Paradise Springs Winery Low key evening at home watching hockey Sunday Dropped Kyle off at race drop off bright and early Hand lettering sketching at Starbucks Donuts and coffee at Sugar Shack Donuts (ahhhmazing) in Alexandria with Kyle's mom Watched Kyle finish the 10 mile race in 1:15:53 which equals a 7:36 min/mile! WOW Brunch at Cheesetique in Del Ray Relaxing and recovering the rest of the day at home along with pizza for dinner |
